The Mission
The founders of Plundered Wines came to us with a mission: shake up the online wine space with a brand that feels nothing like the rest of the category.
Their idea was simple but sharp. Source premium small-batch wines from WA’s best producers and market them to wine drinkers over east. Our job was to build the brand from scratch.
The Strategy
We created a full-stack brand and digital experience built to stand out, sell fast, and tell a bigger story.
01. Brand Strategy
We positioned Plundered Wines as a challenger brand: bold, gritty, and built for drinkers tired of the polished and pretentious. Strategically, we focused on three emotional drivers: access to hidden treasure (exclusivity), rebellion against the status quo, and the pride of discovering something hidden.
02. Brand Identity
Inspired by pirate lore, seafaring grit, and the wild character of WA’s southwest, the identity is unapologetically bold. The skull logo accompanied by two crossed wine bottles tells the story at a glance. The design language features weathered textures, nautical motifs, and a palette built from coastal storms and rich cabernets.
03. Logo Design
We developed a visual system centred around the skull emblem. A flexible, ownable mark designed to scale across packaging, merch, and digital. Paired with bold serif type, the logo delivers both impact and story.
04. Website Development
We designed and built a custom Shopify site to reflect the brand’s unique character and drive conversion. The result is a fast, mobile-first store that uses big, immersive imagery, storytelling-led product pages, and a streamlined checkout to make buying wine feel like discovering buried treasure.
The Impact
Plundered Wines launched with a punch. Quickly gaining traction across the east coast as a go-to source for Margaret River wine. The brand’s visual identity and digital experience have set it apart in a crowded category, proving that bold wins when done right.
